Top 4 Lessons I Learned in 2024
Every year, I would write a post on my old website about the lessons I have learned every month and every year. Sharing these nuggets of wisdom to help those who also prioritize self-growth is the best part of sharing wellness guidance, as you can learn from what I have already been through. It was by far my most loved blog, and with that said, I am bringing it back for SeedSolutions followers to enjoy.
Fear Hinders The Ability to Achieve Anything
This year was a big year for practicing bravery. In early 2024, I was suffering from an abundance of fear centered around how others close to me would react based on the choices I made to be happy. This was a five-month battle of discovering balance, personal breaking points, and new values. However, the minute I accepted the fear of losing friends, my old self, and the possible positive outlook others had about me, I grew into my best self incredibility fast. I experienced some of my most stress free days because I dared to take a leap of faith in myself. If only I had done that sooner!
Take The Time to Connect with Yourself
In any circumstance, but specifically in an era of change, it is indescribably important to check in with yourself. I found that if I did not check in with myself, I was more snappy and mentally drained in a time of steady challenge. When I took the time to connect with myself, I asked myself these questions: What do I feel? Why am I feeling this way? and what can I do to set myself up for success? After taking the time to answer these questions, Navigating the constant change and challenge in my life was easier than if I didn't practice self-awareness at all. I don't even want to think about how long it would've taken me to heal without practicing this habit!
Hold on to The Present Moment for as Long as Possible
It is true that the older you get, the faster time flies. A handful of some of my most important life events have already started to happen, and I wish that I had been more present instead of spending so much time looking forward to the next step. Remind yourself that time will go on, and you will get to that next exciting moment. But for now, you may have a moment that you have been looking forward to for so long that is going on as you read this. Tap into the current status of your life and don't blink!
Celebrate The Life you Worked So Hard to Get
Creating goals and completing them has always come naturally to me, but rewarding myself for completing a goal is a different story. Not taking the time to celebrate my accomplishments created a habit of being too hard on myself and setting unbearably high expectations. Towards the end of this year, I realized that this habit was not sustainable. I took the time to ditch unrealistically difficult goals, increase the number of short-term goals, and in some way shape or form, acknowledge the completion of a goal in some capacity. Whether it was crossing it off a list and drawing confetti or buying myself a treat, I now make sure to celebrate my wins.
